Talks between India-China through diplomacy

New Delhi, May 9: The eleventh round of talks between the SpecialRepresentatives (SR) of India and China will be held at a mutuallyconvenient time, which will be decided through diplomatic channels,External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukerjee said in a written reply inthe Lok Sabha today.

Mr Mukherjee said the ninth round of talks between the SRs of India and China was held here from January 16 to 18, 2007.

Subsequently, the 10th round was held in New Delhi and Coonoorfrom April 20-22, this year. The two SRs continued their discussions ona framework for the boundary settlement on the basis of the agreementon political parameters and guiding principles signed in New Delhi onApril 11, 2005.

Responding to another question, Mr Mukherjee said terrorism anddrug trafficking were being discussed between India and Pakistan atHome Secretary level under the Composite Dialogue Process.

He said three rounds of talks have been held since 2004.

''Terrorism is also discussed in the Indo-Pakistan Jointanti-terrorism mechanism put in place to identify and implementcounter-terrorism acts and investigations,'' he added.

He said the Information on some terrorist incidents in India has been shared with Pakistan.
