Suspected Maoists murder Forester in Orissa

Baripda, May 9 (UNI) Suspected Maoists murdered Rabindra Nath Patra, a forester of Sergada Section under Rairangpur Forest Range in Mayurbhanj district, about 70 km from here, in the wee hours today.

Rairangpur Territorial Forest Division sources said Patra's body was traced this morning lying close to the section office.

He was found naked and his motorcycle, damaged by the assailants, was found parked near the section office.

Patra (50) is the first forest official in Mayurbhanj district to be killed by the Maoist rebels.

Mayurbhanj Superintendent of Police Sanjay Kumar Singh, District Collector Suresh Kumar Vashishth and other senior officials have rushed to the spot with a team of Special Operation Group (SOG) personnel.
