Select metal prices rises on improved industrial demand

Mumbai, May 9 (UNI) Select metal prices rose on improved industrial demand along with the London Metal Exchange, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange said.

In the ferrous section, copper heavy and copper utensils went up by Rs 100 each per quintal while brass utensils and brass cutting hiked by Rs 200 each per quintal on reduced stock supply.

In the non-ferrous section, copper wire bars and aluminium ingots edged up by Rs 200 and Rs 100 per quintal respectively on improved demand.

Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 36,600, Copper utensils - Rs 33,900, Brass utensils - Rs 26,200, Brass cuttings - Rs 27,200 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 11,900.

Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 40,200, Aluminium ingots - Rs 14,200, Zinc slabs - Rs 20,200, Lead ingots - Rs 10,000, Tin slab - Rs 750 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 2,300 (per kg).
