Police custody of TRS MLA extended
Hyderabad, May 9 (UNI) A local court today extended, till May 11, the police custody of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) MLA K Lingaiah in connection with the human trafficking case involving BJP MP Babubhai Kataria.
The TRS MLA had been charged with obtaining a fake passport for a Gujarati woman in the name of his wife.
The XII Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court extended the police custody after the accused was produced before the court by the Central Crime Station (CCS) police probing the scam as MLA's 12-day police custody ended today.
The CCS police sought two more days to interrogate Mr Lingaiah in connection with the scam. Meanwhile, hearing on the bail petition filed by Mr Lingaiah's counsel would be taken up tomorrow in the court.
Mr Lingaiah surrendered before the police on April 27 after CCS police filed a case against him.
