PM to inaugurate world's biggest EDUSAT network

Hisar, May 9 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh would dedicate the world's biggest EDUSAT distance education network to the children of Haryana on May 19 at Khedar village near here, Secondary Education K K Khandelwal director said today.

Talking to reporters here, he said all the 9,080 Primary Schools would be linked to this EDUSAT network.

''A new era of education would begin with the commencement of this network. During the testing phase, it has already witnessed higher enrolment in science schools and the result percentage has also gone up,'' he said.

Mr Khandelwal said 103 new science schools at the level of 10+2 will be opened in the state this year. There were only 217 science schools since the formation of Haryana. The number of science students was rapidly increasing in the rural areas, he added.
