Orders on RSS office bomb blast case on June 11
Chennai, May 9 (UNI) The designated court, trying TADA cases will pronounce its verdict in the 1993 RSS office bomb blast case on June 11.
The designated judge T Ramasamy, had on April 18 reserved orders in the case for today. However, when the case came up for hearing, the judge said in view of the voluminous documents connected with the case, the order was not ready and he would pronounce the verdict on June 11.
In the bomb blast RDX was used for blowing up the RSS building located in the heart of the city, killing 11 people and injuring seven persons.
In all 18 persons, including the banned Alumma organisation leader S A Basha were accused in the case. Other persons listed as accused were Imman Ali, a suspected ISI agent, who escaped from custody in Madurai and was gunned down in an encounter with the police in Bangalore on September 29, 2002 and Jihad committee founder president Palani Baba, who was hacked to death by suspected RSS sympathisers on January 28,1997.
The CBI was entrusted with the investigation after it was found that RDX had been used for blasting the state RSS headquarters building in Chetpet on August 8,1993.
While seven were released on bail, one Mustaq Ahmed was absconding.
Of the 431 witnessess, 224 were examined during the trail which commenced on August 2, 1995. The CBI filed the chargesheet on June 8, 1994.
All the 15 accused were present in the court today.
