Kidnapped student was murdered servant conferses

Chapra, May 9 (UNI) The sensational abduction of six-year old Ankit on April 12 from the heart of the state capital took a new turn today following the admission of the arrested servant that he had killed the child.

Deputy Superintendent of Police(Town) Mithilesh Kumar said soon after the admission of servant Balram and as per the clues provided by him, the district police immediately swung into action and started digging at five to six spots on the bank of the river Saryu near Rahat Road in Saran district. But except a portion of a half pant, which Ankit's relatives identifed, nothing has so far been recovered.

But in order to be sure of the child's death and gather more evidence the police continued the digging operation in different spots as identifed by the killer servant and hoped to trace the child's body.

Meanwhile, a special team of Patna Police reached the spot and started interrogating the servant further to extract more clues about the motive of the abduction and alleged murder. A local trader also informed them that he had seen Balram with a little boy in the locality a few days ago.

Incidentally, the broad day-light abduction of Ankit on April 12 from the heart of the capital city had rocked the entire state forcing the police to launch a massive manhunt. But despite all out efforts the boy still remained untraced though his school bag and some other belongings were recovered from different places here causing suspision about the fate of Ankit.

Their efforts also ultimately led to the arrest of Balram as the main suspect who following intensive interrogation disclosed the alleged murder of Ankit.
