Katara case TRS MLA send to judicial remand

Hyderabad, May 9 (UNI) A local court today remanded to judicial custody Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) MLA K Lingaiah in connection with the human trafficking case allegedly involving BJP MP Bhabubai Katara.

The 12th Additional Metropolitan Magistrate Court remanded the TRS MLA to judicial custody when he was produced before it.

Mr Lingaiah, who was accused of obtaining a fake passport for a Gujarati woman in his wife's name, had surrendered on April 27 after the Central Crime Station (CCS) police, probing the scam, filed a case against him.

After interrogating the TRS MLA in connection with the case, the CCS police produced him before the court today as the police custody was to end tomorrow. Mr Lingaiah was lodged in the Chenchalguda Jail.

Hearing on the bail petition filed by his counsel would be taken up tomorrow in the court.
