Bhopal, May 9 (UNI) BJP President Rajnath Singh today admitted that the assembly polls could throw up a hung assembly in Uttar Pradesh but refused that the party would work out an alliance with SP or BSP.

Mr Singh told mediapersons here that one must wait for the results before stating something decisively. He hoped that the position of the BJP-led NDA would be good in Uttar Pradesh.

He scotched up speculations regarding SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav offering to extend support to NDA constituent's Apna Dal leader for the post of Chief Minister.

''Apna Dal leader Sonelal Patel has made it clear that he would not leave the NDA,'' he said.

On the party's strategy in event of fractured verdict and the Centre imposing President's Rule in Uttar Pradesh, Mr Singh said the party was waiting for the results and a decision would be taken after analysing the overall situation.
