Govt to file counter affidavit on shifting Prabhunath's case
Patna, May 9 (UNI) Patna High Court today granted three weeks time to the state government to file counter affidavit in connection with shifting of JD(U) MP Prabhunath Singh, from Bhagalpur to other district within the state.
A single bench of Justice Navin Sinha granted the time to the state government during hearing of the four separate petitions filed by former MLA Tarkeshwar Singh, Ram Pravesh Singh, Ravindra Singh and Ilaichi Devi. They had filed petitions for seeking the court's directive to shift the trial of the case involving JD(U) MP Prabhunath Singh.
The petitioners had alleged that trial of the case was not being conducted in a fair manner. The concerned judge appeared prejudiced while hearing arguments during the trial, the petitioners contended.
The matter is related to murder case lodged against JD(U) MP Prabhunath Singh at Masrakh police station in Saran district.The trial of the case was on in Bhagalpur district.
