DSP faces dowry harassment charges, in judicial custody
Jaipur, May 9 (UNI) A deputy superintendent of police in Bikaner district facing charges of dowry harassment was produced in the court of additional Chief judicial magistrate of Poonam Durgan today and has been remanded to judicial custody till May 22.
Deputy Superintendent of Police, Rajasthan Armed Constubalory (RAC), Bhawarnek Mohammad, wife Mala and son Qayum Khan have been accused of harrasing their daughter-in-law Sheena Khan for dowry.
Sheena, who is Qayum's second wife, lodged a complaint against the deputy SP and family for forcing her to leave the house, demanding more dowry from her.
Bhawarnek Mohammad had filed an anticipatory bail application before the High Court, which was not entertained. After his bail was rejected, Mohammad, his son and wife surrendered before the police last night.
They were produced in the court today and were remanded to judicial custody till May 22.
Mohammad is posted in Nokha in Bikaner while his son Qayum is a Army major posted in Delhi.
