Communist leader Rayarappan no more
Kannur, May 9 (UNI) Freedom fighter and Communist leader K P R Rayarappan died here today following prolonged illness.
The 96-year-old bachelor, Rayarappan was attracted to the national movement at the age of 15 and had participated in a number of events associated with the freedom struggle.
Later, he joined the Communist party and actively participated in peasant struggle. He was one of the early communist organisers of North Malabar. He was imprisoned for seven years and was involved in the Salem jail struggle.
