AP delegation visits American Universities

Visakhapatnam, May 9 (UNI) Andhra University Vice Chancellor I Venugopal Reddy today said Vice Chancellors of five universities and Andhra Pradesh Higher Education Delegation visited various institutions and universities including University of Alabama, Jackson State University, Alcorn State University, Kansas State University, Delaware Univerity of USA.

Addressing newspersons here, he said during the visit from April 11 they held discussions with the Administrators and faculty of the Universities for possible collaboration.

He held discussions with Carnegie Mellon University President in Pennsylvania and resolved to have MoU to further strengthen students exchange and faculty exchange programmes.

He also visited Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Boston to discuss about distance education.

He said the MIT team is visiting Andhra Pradesh in June, 2007 for further discussions in the areas of co-operation. Distance education programmes would have a tie-up with MIT. Arizona State University (ASU) also invested 400 billion(US-$) and showed interest in establishing their centre in India.
