Two smack traders get RI under NDPS Act in Bihar
Patna, May 8 (UNI) A local sessions court in Bihar today convicted two persons under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and awarded five years' Rigorous Imprisonment (RI) to one and three months to the other.
The court also slapped a total fine of Rs one lakh upon the former and Rs five thousand against the latter.
The additional district and sessions judge of Patna Brajendra Kumar Srivastava convicted Jacky Ahmad and Sunil Paswan under the various sections of NDPS Act.
According to the charges, both were arrested near the Patna Juction under Kotwali police station while selling contraband smack.
Sixteen sachets of smacks were recovered from Jacky and one sachet from Sunil.
