Train traffic disrupted in Chhattisgarh
Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh, May 8: Rail traffic on Kirandul-Vishakhapatnam section was disrupted following derailment of three wagons of a goods train after the naxalites removed 30 feet rail last night between Kirandul and Bhansi stations in Chhattisgarh's Dantewada district.
The naxalites also snatched away the walkie-talkie set from the guard after the goods train carrying iron ore came to a halt following the derailment, police said.
The passenger and other trains plying on the route had been suspended, railway sources said.
High quality iron ore from Bailadila mines in Bastar region of Chhattisgarh is mainly exported to Japan via Vishakhapatnam port.
