SCR staff hold protest

Vijayawada, May 8 (UNI) Railway employees of the Vijayawada Division of the South Central Railway (SCR) today observed 'Protest Day here for alleged delay in sanctioning interim relief to employees.

The protest call was given by Dakshina Madhya Railway Mazdoor Sangh (DMRMS) affiliated to the Bharatiya Railway Mazdoor Sangh (BMS). The employees today attended duty wearing black badges.

Addressing the employees, DMRMS Organising Secretary P S Subramanyam said due to delay in payment of interim relief and dearness allowance, the employees faced lot of hardship and incurred debts.

He demanded the governmennt announce immediately interim relief and warned of further agitation on the issue if the demands were not met.
