No nomination filed for Ullal bypoll on opening day

Mangalore, May 8 (UNI) No nomination was filed on the opening day of filing of nomination papers for the June 2 by election to Ullal Assembly constituency, near here.

The last day for filing of nomination would be May 15. Scrutiny of nomination papers would be taken up on May 16 and the last date for withdrawal was May 18. Counting of ballots would be taken up on June 5.

The seat had fallen vacant following the death of Congress Legislator U T Farid.
