Mumbai, May 8 (UNI) Larsen&Toubro Ltd (L&T) announced today that the company has secured an order valued at Rs 215 crore (USD 51.7 million) from the Abu Dhabi Water&Electricity Authority for the supply and installation of 33 kV power cables and fibre optic cables for interconnections between various substations in the eastern region of Abu Dhabi Area.

The contract will be executed within 18 months time.

According to the term of the contract, the company will supply and install 33 kV cables and fibre optic cables as per the specifications of international consultant, Lahmeyer International Gmbh, the company informed BSE today here.

The scope of the underground cabling contract includes design, manufacture, supply, installation as well as testing and commissioning of 33 kV cables and fibre optic cables including associated civil works, covering eleven substations in the eastern region of Abu Dhabi, for the reinforcement of power distribution network to meet the increase in power demand from the existing as well as new customers, it added.
