E C reserves its order on the controversil C D issue

New Delhi, May 8 (UNI) The Election Commission (EC) today said it decided to reserve its judgement on the controversial CD issue involving the Bharatiya Janata Party, to take further action under 16A of the Symbol Order.

The three-member commission in its twenty page report said after going through arguments from all parties involved in the case, it has decided to reserve its judgement to take further action under 16A of the Symbol Order.

Under the order, a political party could be de-recognised if the party's symbol is either taken away or frozen.

The commission's order further said action will be taken if it was established that there was involvement of a national/state level leader in the production, distribution and dissemination of the controversial CD.
