CRPF initiates action against constable for rape

New Delhi, May 8 (UNI) The CRPF today said it had initiated action against one of its constables charged for rape of a girl while investigation was on in another case involving another personnel.

Jugal Salkia, a CRPF constable involved in a rape case in Maharajganj in Uttar Pradesh, has been dismissed after he was found guilty of raping a girl, a CRPF spokesperson said.

Criminal proceedings have also been launched against the constable, he said adding that ''the law will take its own course''.

Investigation is on in another case of rape involving a constable from Gorakhpur, the spokesperson said.

Strict action would be taken against the personnel if he was found guilty, the spokesperson added.
