3,500 pirated CDs seized, one arrested

Chennai, May 8 (UNI) The Central Crime Branch Police today seized 3,500 pirated CDs of latest Tamil films and pornographic CDs at Mannadi in the city and arrested one person in this connection.

Sub-Inspector of Police D Isakki Pandiyan, who led the search operation, said that acting on a tip off, they raided a godown and seized the CDs worth about Rs 20 lakhs.

Preliminary inquiries revealed that one Mohamed Ali Jinnah owned the godown and supplied the CDs to Burma Bazaar and other parts of the city, he said.

Jinnah was arrested and remanded to judicial custody.
