Vikas Yadav's statement partly recorded
New Delhi, May 7 (UNI) Additional sessions Judge Ravinder Kaur today partly recorded the statement of Vikas Yadav, son of politician D P Yadav and prime accused in the Nitish Katara murder case, under Section 313 of the CrPC which entitles an accused to put his defence.
According to the prosecution, Nitish Katara and Bharti Yadav's close friendship was disapproved by Vikas and this prompted him and his co-accused cousin Vishal to allegedly kidnap and murder Nitish during a marriage on February 17, 2002.
Vikas Yadav, however, denied all charges against him and submitted before the court that he had been falsely implicated in this case and that the police took his signature on blank paper.
The accused also requested the court for a medical examination as he was not feeling well today.
The court has fixed May 8 for conducting his medical examination and May 9 for futher statements of the accused.
The trial court has started hearing the case on a day-to-day basis after the Delhi High Court directed it to complete the trial by May 31st this year.
