Senior journalist passes away
Bhopal, May 6 (UNI) Senior journalist and former UNI senior correspondent Ashok Verma today passed away due to heart attack at the John Hopkins hospital, Baltimore, in the US yesterday.
Mr Verma, 59, is survived by wife and one son.
Mr Verma, who served as senior correspondent in UNI's Bhopal office for several years, went to the US in early 1990s where he worked as a journalist in the Delaware News Journal. He was working as a senior correspondent with same news organisation at present.
Mr Verma was originally a resident of Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh.
His father Krishna Kumar Verma was a freedom fighter.
He began his journalistic career from Jabalpur-based Narmada Heralds. He had also served as the general secretary of a journalist organisation.
