AP: Four killed in separate mishaps

Eluru (Andhra Pradesh), May 7: Four people were killed and 20 injured in three separate accidents in West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh in the last 24 hours.

Police said here today that an unidentified person was killed and 19 were injured when a luxury bus of the Andhra Pradesh Road Transport Corporation hit a stationary lorry at Denduluru on the Kolkata-Chennai National Highway No.5, early today. The bus was proceeding to Hyderabad from Amalapuram when the mishap occurred.

The 12 seriously injured were admitted to Eluru Government Hospital.

In another mishap, one Allu Nageswara Rao (25) of Gundugolanu village and his brother-in-law Ganji Giribabu (28) of Pulla village were killed when their motorcycle was hit by a speeding jeep at Pulla village in West Godavari district, last evening.

Police said the duo was knocked down while proceeding to make arrangements for their family members to visit Kurellagudem to offer prayers to Kondalamma Devi temple.

In the third incident, at Somavarappadu Village on the outskirts of Eluru, Bavisetti Naganjaneyulu was killed and his friend Palaparthi Lokesh was injured when a lorry ran over their motorcycle while they were returning home after attending a marriage in Dwaraka Tirumala.
