Patna, May 7 (UNI) The Bihar government today sealed its border with neighbouring Uttar Pradesh in view of tomorrow's final phase Panchayat polling.

Inspector General (Headquarter) A K Sinha said here today that the border had been totally sealed and the security agencies were keeping a close watch on the area to prevent any eventuality and infiltration of anti-social elements.

He said most of the Assembly constituencies facing polls in the final phase were in close proximity to Bihar, and keeping this in view the government had decided to keep a strict vigil on its inter-state border.

Mr Sinha said after reviewing the situation all police stations in the border adjoining UP had been alerted and senior authorities were in direct contact with the police stations.

Apart from this, additional check posts had been set up and vehicular movement had been restricted in the area.

He said police picket had also been established at vulnerable spots to prevent probable infiltration of extremists.

The policemen had been asked to maintain night vigil on the adjoining riverine areas.
