BJP MLA Dilip Bhatere cremated
Bhopal, May 7 (UNI) Mortal remains of BJP legislator Dilip Bhatere were today consigned to flames at his native village Bolegaon in Balaghat district.
The pyre was lit by his elder son Rajiv Bhatere.
Bhatere, an MLA from Lanji in Balaghat district, passed away at a hospital in Nagpur yesterday after a brain hemorrhage. He was 58 and is survived by wife, three sons and two daughters.
Earlier, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, state BJP President Narendra Singh Tomar, Agriculture Minister Choudhary Chandrabhan Singh and party workers besides other people paid floral tributes at his residence and took part in the funeral procession.
Bhatere's body was draped in tri-colour.
Governor Balram Jakhar also expressed condolence at the sudden demise of the leader.
In his message, Dr Jakhar said Bhatere always strove for the development of backward and poor people. His death had caused an irreparable loss.
