Widow of OIL contractor demands CBI enquiry
Guwahati, May 06 (UNI) The widow of a class 1 OIL contractor, allegedly killed by miscreants, today demanded a CBI enquiry into the murder of her husband and four-year-old son as the police failed to make any headway into the investigation.
Addressing a press meet here, Ms Kalyani Tamuli alleged that the police have failed to nab the murderers of her husband and son two years after the incident.
Her husband Deepak and son Tezaswa were killed and their bodies burnt along with the Indigo car they were travelling in on the night of May 7, 2005, at Chiring Chapori area, under Duliajan police station in Dibrugarh district of Upper Asom.
Deepak was a class 1 contractor with the Oil India Limited (OIL).
Ms Tamuli demanded a CBI enquiry into the killing and said, ''I have failed to get justice and have lost faith in everyone. I want a CBI enquiry into my husband's and son's killings,'' she asserted.
She had met the Director General of Police yesterday and he had assured to look into the matter.
Ms Tamuli, who now lives with her 12-year-old daughter Puja, said the assurances of the then-SP PC Haloi had failed to materialize into any action.
She alleged that the SP and the Officer in Charge of Duliajan police station was transferred from the place under mysterious circumstances.
