Ultra-modern old age home inaugurated

Ahmedabad, May 6 (UNI) An ultra-modern old age home ''Hiramani Saandhyajeevan Kutir'', claimed to be the biggest in the country and built at a cost of Rs nine crore, was inaugurated by Pramukhswami Maharaj of Swami Narayan Sect here today.

The ''Kutir'' has been set up by the Jansahayak Trust which runs an educational institution. It has a capacity to accommodate 372 elderly people.

It has 120 rooms, of which 24 are air conditioned, having twin sharing and single occupancy capacity and provided with facilities like television, library, reading room, health club, yoga, meditation, solitude and community hall, besides a bank branch. There is also a hospital facilitated with an in-house doctor, nurses and a physiotherapy centre.

The admission process of the Kutir will start from tomorrow for those elderly persons in good health between 55 to 80 years of age.

Political Secretary to Ms Sonia Gandhi Ahmed Patel, MP, was the chief guest while Nirma founder Karsanbhai and President of the Trust and former Deputy Chief Minister Narhari Amin were present in the function.
