Two killed, 21 injured in bus-motorcycle collision

Palakkad, May 6 (UNI) Two people, including a woman were killed and 21 others injured, one of them seriously, when a private bus overturned after hitting a motorcyle at Chekeripuram, near here today.

The deceased were identified as Kannan (56) of Chekeripuram, riding on the motorcycle and Vijayalakshmi (20), hailing from Puthuperiyar in the district and a passenger in the bus, police said.

The seriously injured Sasi, who was pillion riding with his father on the motorcycle was admitted to the Thrissur Medical College hospital, while the other injured bus passengers were admitted to the district hospital here.

The mishap occurred when the private bus proceeding to Palakkad from Cherpulassery, overturned after hitting the motorcycle, police added.
