Two held with arms, ammunition

Mysore, May 6 (UNI) The city police arrested two people and seized a gun and 18 cartridges from them.

The last night, a police patrol spotted a car moving without a number plate. When the tried to stop it, it sped away.

However, the car was intercepted at Mahadevapura road at the outskirts of the city. The two persons were taken into custody, the police said.

On interrogation, the duo- Faroo from Hunsur and Naushad from Kushalnagar - said they had purchased the car from a person in Salem and were on their way to sell the gun and cartridges, police added.
