Two dead, four wounded in Kashmir accidents

Srinagar, May 6 (UNI) Two people, including a policeman, were killed and four others wounded in separate accidents across the Kashmir valley since last evening, police said today.

Constable Mushtaq Ahmad Wani and Manzoor Ahmad Rather were killed on the spot when their motorcycle met with an accident on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway near Bemina bypass last evening.

Police have registered a case and started investigations.

Constable Muneer Ahmad was wounded when a speeding car hit him at the Exhibition crossings near here last evening.

A scooter rider, Ghulam Nabi, was injured when hit by a matador at Hazratbal on the city outskirts last night.

Two labourers -- Abdul Rashid Bajad and Abdul Majid Mir -- were critically wounded in a stone quarry at Alfata-D Athawajan when they were loading stones into a tipper.

The injured have been shifted to a hospital, police said.
