Two children of a family die of food poisoning, parents in hospital

Dubai, May 6 (UNI) The Indian community in Bahrain is in a state of shock over reports of death of a three year old Indian boy and his 12 year old sister following suspected food poisoning yesterday while their parents are fighting for their lives in hospital.

The parents of Juval Anna Saji and Mini Saji are undergoing treatment at a Manama hospital.

All the members of the family reportedly felt uneasy after having dinner at their home and began to vomit the next morning.

Officials of the Ministries of Health and Interior inspected their house and collected samples of remaining food and water which were later sent to a laboratory for investigation.

Samples of blood and stool have also been sent for testing, press reports said today.

Saji Varghese, father of the children, said from the hospital bed that the children started vomiting a few hours after dinner on Friday.

Neighbours called for an ambulance when the entire family began vomiting the next morning.
