Hyderabad, May 06 (UNI) Telugu Desam Party supremo and former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today demanded a CBI inquiry into the human trafficking scam in which several MPs and MLAs were allegedly involved.

Talking to newspersons here, he said he would write to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, urging him to order a CBI inquiry into the scam.

Terming it as a heinous crime, Mr Naidu said whoever was responsible deserved stringent punishment.

Taking a stranger along as one's wife or sister was an ''un-thinkable'' offence, he said.

Only a CBI inquiry would bring out the correct facts to light and prevent any party from blackmailing another party, he said adding anyone involved should be punished irrespective of his party affiliation or position.

He said such persons had no right to represent the people.
