Slight rise in temperatures in HP despite rains

Shimla, May 6 (UNI) Minimum and maximum temperatures across Himachal Pradesh registered slight rise during the last 24 hrs despite light showers at Shimla and isolated places in Mandi district of the state.

Light showers lashed Shimla town and adjoining areas and at isolated places in Mandi district, while overcast conditions prevailed in the famous tourist places of Manali in Kullu district throughout the day.

The sky was clear over the tribal districts of Lahaul Spiti, Kinnuar and Chamba in the state during the last 24 hrs.

Shimla's maximum temperature rose by a few notches to stand at 25 degrees as compared to 24.5 degrees Celsius recorded yesterday, while Sundernagar and Bhuntar recorded a high temperature of 36.9 and 33.3 degree Celsius respectively.

The met office said Kalpa in Kinnuar district of the state recorded a maximum temperature of 29.9 degrees, as compared to 23.2 degrees recorded yesterday.

The minimum temperature at the state capital also rose by a degree to stand at 16.7 in comparison yesterday's low of 15.7 degree Celsius, while Sundernagar and Bhuntar recorded minimum of 17.1 and 12 degrees.

The met office has predicted rains and thundershowers at isolated places in the state during the next 24 hrs.
