Rains likely in some parts of the country

Pune, May 6 (UNI) Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep and at a few places in Jharkhand, Bihar, east Uttar Pradesh, coastal Andhra Pradesh, coastal Karnataka and Kerala and at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal and Sikkim, Orissa, west Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, east Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chattisgarh, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Telanagana, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu and interior Karnataka.

Mainly dry weather will prevail over west Rajasthan, Gujarat State and Konkan and Goa.

Heat wave conditions prevailed at isolated places in east Rajasthan and Vidarbha. Hot day conditions prevailed in west Rajasthan and at isolated places in Marathwada.

Day temperatures were appreciably to markedly above normal in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalayalaya, Manipur, Sub-Himalayan west Bengal and Sikkim, HimachalPradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and in some parts of south Madhya Maharashtra and of coastal Karnataka and in remaining parts of Rajasthan and of Vidarbha and were above normal in some parts of coastal Orissa, Haryana, Saurashtra and Kutch, Punjab, north Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Tamil Nadu and of Kerala.

They were appreciably to markedly below normal in some parts of interior Orissa, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh and Rayalseema and were below normal in some parts of Bihar, east Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh,and in remaining parts of Rayalseema. They were normal over the rest of the country.

Heavy rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in Kerala. Rain or thundershowers have occured at many places in Andaman and Nicobar and at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and at isolated places in Orissa, east Uttar Pradesh, east Rajasthan, Vidarbha, Marathwada, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, north interior Karnataka, south interior Karnataka.
