Radio Kashmir Correspondent abducted in Kashmir

Srinagar, May 6 (UNI) Unidentified persons abducted a Radio Kashmir correspondent from a hotel here last evening, an official spokesman said today.

However, he said the correspondent was released after some time at Shalimar on the city outskirts, but not before being beaten up mercilessly by his kidnappers.

The spokesman said the unknown persons abducted Naseer Ahmed, the Doda-based correspondent of ''Shaherbeen'', from a hotel located in the high-security Sonawar area last evening.

Shaherbeen is a daily news analysis programme aired on Radio Kashmir.
