Only BSP can uproot 'goonda raj': Mayawati
Faizabad, May 6 (UNI) Inveighing the Samajwadi Party supremo and Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav, BSP chief Mayawati today claimed that the prevailing 'Goonda Raj' in the state could only be removed by her.
Addressing an election meeting here, Ms Mayawati asserted ''unfortunately, history-sheeters rule the roost in UP. The state can only get rid of the 'goonda raj' under BSP rule.'' Claiming that BSP was not against any particular religion, the former CM asserted ''I believe in the equity-based society and UP can be developed into an 'Uttam Pradesh' only under my rule.'' Ms Mayawati accused Mr Yadav and SP general secretary Amar Singh of misusing public funds. ''They have only befooled the masses and now planning to flee India after siphoning enormous wealth from the state exchequer.'' ''SP and BJP are having a secret-pact and are least bothered with basic problems existing in UP,'' she alleged.
