Official word on Amol Chouhan still awaited

Mumbai, May 6 (UNI) There has yet been no official word on the fate of Amol Chouhan, nephew of Parle Bisleri chairman Ramesh Chouhan, who was on board the Nairobi-bound Kenyan Airlines's flight KQ 507 which crashed shortly after takeoff.

''We are still waiting to hear from the government channels.

Uncertainty is very much there, and we are expecting news about Amol soon,'' a Parle Products official told UNI.

Amol's elder brother Arup Chouhan has already left for Nairobi to find out the fate of his brother.

Amol, who is managing director of Parle Products, was on his way back to Nairobi in the Kenyan Airlines' plane that crashed early Saturday morning with 114 on board, including 15 Indians.

The Nairobi-bound Kenyan Airlines's flight KQ 507 went down near the town of Lolodorf, 90 miles southeast of the coastal city of Doula from where it had taken off after mid-night.

Son of Parle Products managing director Sharad Chouhan, Amol is a promising pistol shooter and a regular at the National Championships. He had won two team silver medals in the National Games in Guwahati early this year. Amol was on a business trip to Africa and was supposed to take a flight back home from Nairobi.
