NMPT receives first 60-container rake

Mangalore, May 6 (UNI) New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT) Railway has received first full rake of 60 containers (TEUS) at the Port Railway Marshalling Yard.

This is for the first time a rake carrying 60 containers from Chennai arrived at the yard, yesterday.

The consignment would meet the requirement of the exporters. It was unloaded and shifted to the container stockyard in a record two hours.

The containers were meant for Maersk India, NMPT Chairman P Tamilvanan said in a release here today.
