Man get 6 mths simple imprisonment in cheque bouncing case
Akola, May 6 (UNI) A local court has sentenced a man to undergo six months simple imprisonment in a cheque bouncing case under section 138 of the Negotiable Instrument Act.
Handing down the sentence yesterday, the court also slapped a fine of Rs 5,000 on Devidas Panduji Chavan of Medshi village.
The accused had purchased a tractor worth Rs 4.25 lakh from Ritesh Lahoti, proprietor of Sonalika Tractor Centre at Washim and issued a cheque of that amount.
However, the cheque bounced and he did not make any payment against the bounced cheque.
