Kumaraswamy challenges Congress on Farm loan waiver
Mysore, May 6 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumarswamy today challenged the opposition Congress party to influence the Union Government waive farmers' loans in the Nationalised banks.
Laying the foundation stone for a bridge near K R Nagara in this district, he said that the Congress had been critical of the state government's each and every programme including the farmers loan waivers.
"Let them take a delegations to the Union Government and get loan waiver in Naionalised banks to the farmers of Karnataka, like the my government has done waiving cooperative bank loans," he challenged. Further, the state government had been striving to mobalise resources to balance on the burden of the arrack ban that will come to effect in June, he said.
Earlier Chief Minister declared open the four-lane Highway between Belekere and Belur in Hassan at the cost of Rs 39 crore and also lay the foundation stone for bridge across Lakshmanathirtha river near K R Nagara.
