Hooda lays foundation stone of Leyland's driving institute

Kaithal, May 6 (UNI) Haryan Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today laid the foundation stone of Modern Driving School and Road Safety Institute to be constructed at a cost of Rs 10 crore over an area of 11 acres.

This institute is joint venture of the state government and Leyland Motors.

It would impart training to about 10,000 drivers annually. A hostel would also be constructed in the institute to accommodate 60 trainees.

Mr Hooda said that due to the increase in the number of vehicles, the accident rate was also increasing. To tackle this problem, it was imperative to provide training to the drivers. He said that the seats for the youth of village Padla would also be reserved in this institute.

Local MLA Shamsher Singh Surjewala said that efficient training would be given to the drivers in this institute besides conducting refresher courses. Transport Minister Randeep Singh Surjewala was also present on the occasion.
