Hindware eyes Rs 1,000 cr turnover by 2010

New Delhi, May 6 (UNI) Buoyed by a strong demand from the domestic market, sanitary ware major Hindware is aiming to double its turnover to Rs 1,000 crore by 2010.

''We have achieved a turnover of Rs 500 crore last fiscal, and are aiming to reach a turnover of Rs 1,000 crore by 2010,'' company's Vice President Sales Sanjay Kalra told UNI here.

Elaborating the company's expansion's plan, he said the capacity of its Bibinagar plant (Hyderabad) will be increased by 60,000 pieces to 1,80,000 pieces per month.

Its Bahadurgarh plant is currently producing 1,50,000 pieces per month.

''The sanitary ware market is growing very rapidly and we are hoping increase in our retail and project sales,'' Mr Kalra said adding the company is open for aquisitions.

Barring tiles, the company provides all bathroom products and it diversified into kitchenware too recently.

''We are engaged in expanding our network all over the country and are adding 15 channel partners every quarter,'' said Mr Kalra.

He said the company will introduce premium imported water closets and washbasins under its 'Italian Collection' this month.

The 'Altor' will be available for Rs 7,000 onwards while the 'Fiona' is coming for Rs 20,000.

The Clipper (EWC system) is priced at Rs 7,500 onwards, he added.

The company's product fortfolio comprises of imported and indigenously made sanitaryware in myriad designs and colours and bath fittings.

Its bath tubs and whirlpool systems in steel and iron to fiberglass and acrylic has been ergonomically designed in various sizes, shapes and colours.
