Green signal for Jute Park in Andhra Pradesh
Visakhapatnam, May 6 (UNI) Federation of Andhra Pradesh Industries (FAPI) President B V Rama Rao today said the state government had given the green signal for establishing a Jute Park.
Mr Rao told UNI here that he had met Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, a couple of days ago in this connection.
The Chief Minister asked the District Collector of Srikakulam to identify 150 acres of land to set up the park, he said adding ten big, 20 medium and 60 small jute mills would be accomodated in the Jute Park.
The entire coastal Andhra region from Srikakulam to Nellore depended on agriculture and it was unfortunate that agro-based industries were not encouraged, Mr Rao, who is also Managing Director of Swarnandhra Jute Mills said.
He appealed to the nationalised banks to provide loans to entrepreneurs willing to set up their jute units in the region.
He said the Governor Rameshwar Thakur would participate in the 15th anniversary of FAPI to be held on June 11 in Hyderabad.
