Girl raped during phase VI of UP polls

Mirzapur, May 6 (UNI) A girl was allegedly raped by a youth here during the sixth phase of the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections is on May 3.

In her complaint last evening, the girl has stated she was criminally assaulted by Saroj alias Guddu, when her brother-in-law and sister had gone to cast their votes in Baherwan village.

The victim had been staying at her sister's house since last couple of days, police said.

Meanwhile, the girl had been sent for medical examination and the accused had been nabbed.
