Death toll in blast in a private factory rises to 4

Bangalore, May 6: The death toll in yesterday's blast at Riddhi Siddhi Starch Factory at Gokak, has risen to four with two more succumbing to burn injuries in a hospital today.

In all 27 people were injured when explosion took place at a maze starch plant that ripped off the major portion of the plant in the worst-ever incident.

Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Shankara Bidri, who visited the plant and injured in the hospital said that stringent action would be taken for negligence in providing safety measure in the factory.
