CM announces ITI for Nirmand in Kullu

Shimla, May 6 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today announced the opening of industrial training institute (ITI) and construction of a modern bus stand at Nirmand area of Kullu district.

Addressing a gathering on the closing ceremony of the ninth Rajmata Shanti Devi Memorial Inter-State Volley Ball Tournament at Nirmand yesterday, he said his government was also considering a proposal to upgrade Nirmand gram panchayat to nagar panchayat.

Mr Singh said besides it would also constitute the Rampur Project Advisory Committee to oversee the construction work of the project to ensure its successful completion.

Rubbishing the BJP's claim that lower areas of the state were being discriminated, he said the government was committed for the overall uniform and balanced development with special emphasis on backward areas of the state.

He said all encroachments on government land would be removed and directed the authorities to take effective steps in this direction.

Referring to the Rs 322 crore APDRP and System Improvement Programme being implemented in the state, he said the schemes would ensure quality power supply to the consumers.

In all, the government was constructing 33 KV and 22 KV sub stations in the state to provide interruption free power to the people, he said.

The Chief Minister said every gram panchayat in the state would soon be connected by a motorable road.
