Badal orders inquiry into school text books printing

Amritsar, May 6 (UNI) The Punjab government has ordered an inquiry into the printing of text books prescribed by the Punjab Scool Education Board from outside the state by the previous Congress government.

The inquiry was ordered by Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal during 'Sangat Darshan', when the matter was brought to his notice by local publishers.

He asked the Secretary education to thoroughly look into the matter and place the fresh order with publishers only from within the state. He asked the Secretary to submit the report within fortnight.

In an another significant decision, the Chief Minister asked the local SSP to withdraw the FIRs lodged against the unemployed BEd teachers by the previous government for holding protests. He gave this assurance to a delegation of the unemployed teacherts who met him.
