Army guns down ULFA rebel in encounter

Guwahati, May 6 (UNI) An ULFA rebel was gunned down by the Army during an encounter in Tinsukia last night.

Army sources today said that the encounter took place in the Polapatty area of Chapakhowa in Sadiya sub division of Tinsukia district.

The ULFA rebel, identified as Budheswar Moran, was killed on the spot, while five others managed to escape.

A hand grenade, an IED, a detonator and a nine mm pistol were recovered from the encounter spot, army sources said.
