Activists ransack pub in Bangalore

Bangalore, May 6 (UNI) Twenty seven Karnataka Yuva Vedike activists were arrested when they ransacked a pub in a prominent five-star hotel in this city.

JB Nagar Police Inspector S Prakash said the activists entered the hotel after midnight and asked the guzzlers to go out and ransacked the pub.

Police reached the spot and arrested the activists.

They were produced before a city court which remanded them to judicial custody for 20 days. Later, they were lodged in Parappana Agrahara Central Jail.

The activists said they were opposed to the pub culture as it lowered the tradition of the people.

Some customers argued with the activists even as tables, bottles and glasses were broken.

On a complaint from the hotel manager, police registered cases for criminal tresspassing and destroying of public properties.
